A few days ago I went shopping to buy a PDA for my sister.  I was very disappointed that I could no longer find these on the shelves.  My Tungsten|C has been great for basic PDA functions and for sending and receiving e-mail or browsing the web on my home (and away) WiFi network.

I have to admit that there have been a few problems with crashes that I couldn't recover from.  This taught me the importance of keeping my data backed up at all times!

Beth's Comments:

This device is wonderful!  I have wireless access in my home and office, so I can carry the Tungsten|C back & forth and use it to retrieve e-mail or surf the web.  I know this is incredibly geeky (or amazingly lazy), but I can leave it on my nightstand and check mail when I first wake up or in the middle of the night, without having to get up.

Everywhere I go, I check for wireless access.  None found so far, but I'm in a rural area.  I know I'll find hotspots in the cities!

I bought some games to play and loaded Epocrates, and I was all set.  Eudora has a version of email you can install, but I end up using the VersaMail that came with it.  I even have a ssh client installed.

Definitely check out AvantGo if you're an infomaniac.  You can get news, weather and other interesting & fun information with each update.  I save it so I can read it while I'm in waiting rooms or other places that are punishing me by not having a wireless access point.

Shop online for the best possible price.  I saved some money buy buying on ebay.
