"Ten out of ten. My house was clean in under an hour!"

I know that this isn't a technical gadget, but dammit, life is too short to be on your hands and knees scrubbing the damn floor. I need to be out acquiring more gadgets to review!

Costco Here I Come!

I was in Costco and saw this device and thought it might save me a little time. I bought the stick and the wet wipes (they are sold separately.) I took this thing home, put a sheet on and was dancing through my living room, picking up all kinds of dirt and just tossing the cloth in the trash, no buckets, no mess, no unsanitary, furry, hard sponges. It only took 6 cloths to mop/clean my entire house. Almost makes me want to be a housewife...NOT.

Thanks, P&G.

Helpful stuff: live a little, clean your house quickly and have a social life!

What is Swiffer?

Swiffer is a cleaning system made up of a lightweight, easy-to-assemble sweeper and specially-designed disposable cloths. Swiffer cloths quickly clean dry surfaces by attracting and trapping dirt, dust and hair particles.

Where can I use Swiffer?

The cloths can be used alone for hand dusting, or when attached to the Swiffer head, can be used on smooth household surfaces such as floors, walls, ceilings and more! The flexible Sweeper head makes it easy to clean those hard-to-reach places like baseboards, under furniture, ceiling fans and under/on top of refrigerators.

How does Swiffer work?

When the Swiffer cloth is rubbed over a surface, it creates an electrostatic charge to attract soil into the cloth. The cloth's Lift and Lock Pockets™ then trap and hold dirt in place. When the cleaning is done, simply throw the cloth - and the dirt - away. The web of entangled fibers in the cloth traps them, and the special treatment in the cloth helps hold dirt in place. When the cleaning is done, simply throw the cloth – and the soil – away.

Does it work like a furniture polish on cloth?

No, Swiffer cloths have a trace of a special treatment that helps the cloth hold on to particles, but leaves no residue. You can use Swiffer cloths on computers and electronics as well as fine wood and other surfaces.

Can another cleaning product be used on the Swiffer cloths?

Swiffer cloths should not be used with water, sprays, or polishes which will hamper the cloth's electrostatic action.

How long does a Swiffer Cloth last?

How long the cloth lasts depends on the size of the surface area being cleaned and the amount of soil present, but we think you'll be surprised at how much dirt one cloth can hold.

Can you wash and reuse a Swiffer cloth?

Consumers have told us that one of the reasons they love Swiffer is because they can throw the cloth, and all that dirt, dust, and hair away when they finish cleaning. Washing the Swiffer cloth will remove the special treatment and affect the webbed structure of the fabric. This would, in effect, lessen its cleaning ability.

Can I use a paper towel or rag on the Swiffer mop?

Swiffer cloths are specially designed to work with the Swiffer Sweeper for optimum results. Other cloths and fabrics may not generate an electrostatic charge and do not have Swiffer Lift and Lock Pockets™ to trap and hold household soil.

Where did the name Swiffer come from?

We wanted a universal name that communicated "quick and easy to use." Consumers told us "Swiffer" does just that. And we found the name has the same connotation in many languages.

Where is Swiffer available?

Swiffer is available nationally.
Swiffer can be found in the household cleaning aisle at your local merchandiser, grocery, and drug stores. ©2000 Procter & Gamble http://www.swiffer.com
