The Sony PSP is the best handheld game system out there.  The amazing thing abou this device is that it's much more than something you play games on.  You can watch movies and download music and photos from your PC.  The PSP has a built-in wireless adapter (802.11b),  which allows you to connect to the Internet for system upgrades and online gaming.  A recent system update included the installation of a browser as well.  The browser should only be used in a pinch though.  Typing URLs using the screen and arrow keys is tedious.

The PSP uses UMDs (universal media discs) for games and videos.  They're cute little things!  I have a small collection of games and videos.  My PSP saved me from boredom during a recent cross-country flight.  The video quality is very impressive.  The PSP has an incredibly crisp and clear LCD display.  Sound is great too, if you have the right headphones.  For air travel, get a set of noise cancelling headphones so you don't have to strain to hear above the jet noises.

ACCESSORIES
Be sure to get the screen protector and an extra battery pack or two if you plan on being away from an outlet for an extended period of time.  I was able to watch a full feature film without using the battery packs at all, but it seems like games use more juice.

I've really been happy with the PSP.  It's a solid little machine!  Right now I'm playing SOCOM U.S. Navy Seals Fireteam Bravo.  what a great game!  You can join others online to play if you have WiFi!

Recent movies I've watched:  National Treasure, Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy and Family Guy Presents: Stewie Griffin - The Untold Story.  This thing is a blessing for travel.
